Ballston Area Seniors Dances (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

he Ballston Area Seniors host monthly dances on the second Saturday evening of the month from 7-10 pm at the Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road. Admission is $5. All dances are open to the public. Music provided by: Vintage Country Band (Feb. 13, March 12, July 9, Oct. 8), Peaceful Country Band (May 14, Sept. 10, Nov. 12, Dec. 10 and the Countrymen (April 9, Aug. 13). No dance in June.

Ballston Spa Farmers' Market
Wiswall Park, Front & Low Streets
The 2016 Ballston Spa Farmers Market celebrates its 13th season, sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association. Market days are Thursdays from 3 -6 pm and Saturdays, from 9 am to 12 pm, from June 9-October 8, 2016. The market is conveniently located in Wiswall Park, at the corner of Front Street and Low Street in historic downtown Ballston Spa. Customers can expect to find a great selection of locally grown, raised and crafted items as well as Fair Trade products. Saturday markets feature local acoustic musicians and children's activities. Thursday markets precede the popular Concerts in the Park from June-August.

The Ballston Spa Village Board meets on the following dates: Remainder of 2016: June 13 & 27; July 11 & 25; August 8 & 22; September 12 & 26; October 10 & 24; November 14 & 28; December 12 & 26. In 2017: January 9 & 23; February 13 & 27; March 13 & 27; April 3. Unless otherwise notified, meetings will be at the Municipal Building, 66 Front St., Ballston Spa, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

On September 29th, the internationally broadcast series Fireball Run, films the finale of an episode in the village. The Fireball Run follows 40 teams of contestants, driving fabulous cars on a "life sized trivia game on the road less traveled" to under-discovered places and obscure historic artifacts across the US. Each season highlights a different part of the country is an 8 day, 2000 mile journey.Working with the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, the producers of Fireball Run have chosen Ballston Spa to be a finish line for one leg of the journey. On Thursday, September 29, from approximately 3 to 6 pm, filming will take place on Low Street and Front Street. Both streets will be closed to traffic starting at noon as the production company sets up to film the cars and contestants arriving and their interactions with the people and places here in the village. This is where you come in-we need PEOPLE! School groups, community groups, residents, fire companies-we want everyone to turn out to show them Ballston Spa's great community spirit. You'll be lining the streets for the filming, meeting the contestants, who are also going to be going into businesses as well. It is a great opportunity to show off Ballston Spa to the world, literally! Please mark your calendars now, so that you can be a part of this very special event.

10th Annual Falling Leaves 5K (10:00 AM)

10th Annual Falling Leaves 5K in the village of Ballston Spa will be held on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend on October 8, 2016. The 5K race starts and ends at Kelley Park on Ralph Street in Ballston Spa. Day of race registration starts at 8:30 am with the race starting at 10am. <br />Awards for the top male and female overall, and top 3 male and female in each age division (no duplicates). Age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Kids fun run (Free) will be held after the 5K with each participant receiving a ribbon.Stay for delicious baked goods and an opportunity to win gift certificates to local businesses.Last year local businesses donated over $1,800 in gift certificates! Long sleeved T shirts guaranteed to the first 200 registrations Parking is available at the village pool. "The Way We Were" Car Show (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Front Street, Downtown Ballston Spa
The Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association and the Saratoga Automobile Museum present the 14th annual "The Way We Were" Car Show on Sunday, October 9, from 9 am-4 pm in Ballston Spa. Front Street will be blocked off from Milton Avenue past the Old Iron Springs to accommodate car exhibits and vendors. Besides the hundreds of show cars, enjoy live music, food and family activities. The car show is a judged show and several trophies will be awarded, including Best of Show, Mayor's Choice, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Stock, Oldest Vehicle plus the top 3 in each of 13 categories. Judging begins at 9:00 am with trophies awarded at 3:30 pm. The event is free to spectators. Exhibitors can pre-register by 10/1/16 for $10.00 per car or $15.00 the day of show. All proceeds will benefit BSBPA community activities and the Saratoga Automobile Museum. Rain date is Sunday, October 16. A family style ham dinner will be held at the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 15th from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. The dinner will include roasted ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw and dinner rolls with a slice of pie for dessert. Beverages will include coffee, tea or juice. <br />Cost: $13.00 for adults, children 16 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door. Take-out dinners will also be available. The restaurant is renowned for its creative menu and commitment to the "farm to fork" movement, using fresh ingredients from local and regional farmers and vendors. Ballston Spa Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting (6:30 PM - 9:00 PM)
Milton Avenue, downtown Ballston Spa
Capture the spirit of our genuine, small town holiday tradition, as the village of Ballston Spa rings in the season with this annual celebration, starting with the Ballston Holiday Parade, Friday, December 4. Enjoy holiday floats, marching groups, musicians and carolers, animals, fire trucks and more. Parade step off is at 6:30 pm sharp at old South Street School and will proceed down Milton Avenue. Santa himself officially lights the village Christmas Tree at Wiswall Park at approximately 7:45. Before and after the parade, there will be carolers and musicians on the street corners and village shops restaurants, galleries and museums will be open with music, demonstrations and displays as part of a holiday-themed First Friday, from 6-9 pm. Many local churches and organizations will be hosting special Christmas programs, dinners and craft fairs through the weekend.
