The Ballston Spa Farmers' Market, sponsored by the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association, has been serving the local community since 2003. The market is held twice a week in Wiswall Park: Thursdays from 3-6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am-12 pm, beginning June 12th and ending October 18th. We have added an additional 3 weeks to the end of the season to accommodate for late season produce. Saturday markets will include music and special children's activities. From June 26-Aug. 28, the Thursday markets are followed by the popular Concerts in the Park series. 9th Annual Tom Indiano Memorial Ride (10:30 AM)

Gateway House of Peace and the Saratoga Springs Firefighters host the 9th Annual Tom Indiano Memorial Motorcycle Ride, Saturday September 20. registration is at 10:30 am; ride departs 11:30. Rain or Shine. Food and beverages; music by Last Ride and Just Bruce.. T-shirts, 50/50 raffle and prizes. Proceeds to benefit Gateway House of Peace hospice. Falls Prevention Awareness Day (11:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

Saratoga County Public Health is offering a free event at the Malta Community Center. Falls Prevention Awareness Day is scheduled for September 23 from 11am until 2pm. This open house will showcase the risks of falls and their long term effects on persons of all ages; there will be medication teaching by a pharmacist, hearing evaluations from an audiologist, live demonstrations from an Osteo instructor and Yoga instructor, blood pressure screenings, and more. Please drop by the Malta Community Center on September 23 anywhere between 11 and 2 for this fun and free event!

Pet Stock is a great day for fun and fundraising. The proceeds go to the Pet Assistance Fund which is used for pets that are injured or sick and in need. The event takes place Saturday,September 27 from 1-5 pm at the Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic (365 Saratoga Ave.). Stop by and tour the facility, adopt a pet, enjoy the live band, get your face painted, enter your pet in the agility contest, get your picture taken with your pet, enjoy some snacks, bounce in the bouncy bounce, see the wildlife, enter the raffle or try your luck in the Silent Auction, all for a great cause.

Come support your hometown library and enjoy a fun-filled evening! As part of the Village's First Friday celebration on October 3, the Ballston Spa Public Library will be holding a fundraiser from 6-9 pm at the American legion Post in Ballston Spa. Events will include live music, ice cream social, activities for children, silent auction, bake sale, gift basket raffles and 50/50 drawing. Proceeds go toward funds to renovate the library.

8th Annual Falling Leaves 5 K Race and Kids Fun Run (10:00 AM)

Please join us on Saturday, October 11, 2014 for our 8th Annual Falling Leaves 5K and Kids' Fun Run. The race starts and ends at Kelley Park (next to the village pool). The 5K starts at 10am and the Fun Run starts at 10:45am. Awards for top male and female overall, top 3 male and female in each age division (no duplicates). Age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Finishing ribbons for Kids Fun Run. $20 pre-registration or day of race registration, $25. T-shirts guaranteed to the first 150 registrations. Stay for delicious baked goods and an opportunity to win gift certificates to local businesses. The Ballston Area Seniors host monthly dances on the second Saturday evening of the month from 7-10 pm at the Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road. Admission is $5. All dances are open to the public. Music provided by Peaceful Country Band (October 11 and December 13) and Shades of Country Band (November 8).

''The Way We Were'' Car Show (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Front Street, Ballston Spa
Mark your calendars for the 12th annual "The Way We Were" Car Show, Sunday, October 12, 9 am-4 pm. Stroll the historic Village of Ballston Spa's Front Street from one end to the other, while checking out a wide variety of cars and trucks and enjoying outdoor barbecues, vendors, and music. Front Street will be blocked off from Milton Avenue past the Old Iron Springs to accommodate car exhibits and vendors. In the past, this event has attracted hundreds of display vehicles and thousands of automobile aficionados from all over the region. This is one of the few local judged shows and several trophies will be awarded. The event is free to spectators. Exhibitors will be able to pre-register by 10/1/14 for $10.00 per car or $15.00 the day of show. All proceeds will benefit community activities sponsored by the BSBPA. Ballston Spa Homecoming and Community Pride Parade (6:00 PM)
Parade on Milton Avenue, Football Game, Ballston Spa High School
The Ballston Spa School District and Village of Ballston Spa celebrate Homecoming on Friday, October 17 with the annual Ballston Spa School and Community Pride parade, stepping off from South Street at 6 pm and proceeding through the village on Milton Avenue to Front Street to Ballston Avenue and concluding at the Ballston Spa football field on Garrett Road, where the Ballston Spa Scotties will play Saratoga Springs High School for the Homecoming football game at 7 pm. School and community groups are encouraged to take part in the parade.

A family style ham dinner will be held at the Ballston Spa United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 18th from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. The dinner will include roasted ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw and dinner rolls with a slice of pie for dessert. Beverages will include coffee, tea or juice. Cost: $11.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 4-12, children under 4 are free. Tickets are available at the door. Take-out dinners will also be available. Ballston Spa Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting (6:30 PM)

The Ballston Spa Business & Professional Association's annual Ballston Spa Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting takes place December 5. Parade step off time is 6:30 pm, proceeding on Milton Avenue and ending in Wiswall Park on Front Street with Santa lighting the Christmas tree. The parade has become a hometown-style holiday tradition, with fire trucks, floats, animals, kids and Santa parading down the main street of the village. This is a true community event so parade participants are welcome! If your organization would like to march that night, please contact Ellen at the BSBPA office 885-2772 or info@ballston.org. Before and after the parade, there will be carolers and musicians on the street corners and many village shops and restaurants will be open with music, demonstrations and displays as part of First Friday, which also falls on this festive evening.
