The Ballston Spa Lions Club has taken on the project of bringing music and entertainment to a historic park in Ballston Spa. The newly dedicated Ballston Spa Lions Club Music Park at the Old Iron Spring was established as a legacy project to recognize the 100th Anniversary of Lions Club International and the 68 years the local club has served the needs of the community. Mayor John Romano (also a Lion and whose father was the first president of the club) felt the pavilion and area around the Old Iron Spring was underutilized and would be an ideal area for the club to use. The village board voted this summer to adopt the land as the Ballston Spa Lions Club Music Park At The Old Iron Spring.
The club’s vision for the park is to have a place for friends and families to gather and enjoy great music, stage shows, educational programs and the friendship of neighbors. The club’s goal is to have 5 – 8 FREE events per season starting in 2018 for the community to enjoy. These free concerts would be in addition to the concerts currently held in Wiswall Park on Thursdays during the summer. The park will continue to be available for others to use.
The Lions have set up a GoFundMe account to raise money to fund performances. More information can be found HERE.
