Chocolate Fest—How Sweet It Was! Several hundred chocolate fans came out on a frigid February evening to stroll the village and sample a delicious assortment of chocolate specialties offered by chocolate chefs, ranging from sweet to savory to beverages. The competition for our taste buds was fierce!
Here are the winners for the 2019 Chocolate fest:
Dessert: Jessicakes’ Saratoga-fudge drenched in homemade caramel, topped with toasted pecans and Himalayan pink salt (at Two If By Sea).
Savory: Cake By Alissa-dark chocolate cupcake with maple butter cream, topped with bacon (at Glassworks Studio).
Beverage: Henry’s Tavern’s Chocolate Martini.
Dessert: 1st place -Front Street Deli-chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie dough, 2nd place-Jessicakes Saratoga, 3rd place-The Chocolate Spoon (at National Bottle Museum)
Savory: 1st place-Cake By Alissa, 2nd place-Pizza Works cupcake with savory topping, 3rd place-Abbas Acres (at Ballston Spa United Methodist Church)
Beverage: 1st place-Sunset Café-Chocolate tequila shot, 2nd place-Coffee Planet cocoa, 3rd place-Henry’s Tavern.
