Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several of our local non-profit organizations are even more in need of your support as they continue to serve the needs of the community. Click on the organization name for link.

Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) offers free assistance in navigating the health insurance enrollment process. NY State of Health has opened a special enrollment period for uninsured individuals who need to enroll in a Qualified Health Plan. New York State of Health has extended the Special Open Enrollment Period during which eligible individuals will be able to enroll in insurance coverage to May 15, 2020. Brookside Museum/Saratoga County Historical Society Help support educational programs and preserve the historic museum and its collections through membership. 

Southern Adirondack Independent Living Center (SAIL) is a local non-profit dedicated to helping people of all abilities live more independent lives. We are located at 418 Geyser Rd in the Country Club Plaza. During the COVID 19 crisis our offices remain closed to the public, however we are still actively helping consumers while our advocates work remotely. We are available to assist with applications of all types. Social Security, Disability, Medicaid, Unemployment, SNAP, HEAP, etc… We also have a large network of referral resources to help those in need. Everything from food, clothing, emergency shelter, and more. We are also known for our lending closet of durable medical equipment which gives you the opportunity to borrow something to fill a short term need or “try before you buy” that big purchase. Our services are always free of charge. We are funded by federal and state grants and survive on monetary donations from grateful consumers past and present. Saratoga County EOCCurrently looking for monetary donations so that they can replenish their rapidly diminishing food supply by purchasing food at the Regional Food Bank. Through the food bank, they can source most-needed items at reduced prices. A $10 donation stocks 50 pounds of food. The Store at Rebuilding Together Saratoga County is now online. They are also accepting applications from their clients to provide contractor-delivered repairs to address emergency needs (no heat, hot water, etc.).

Veterans & Community Housing Coalition Collecting non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and paper products at their office, 20 Prospect St. Building 2 Suite 313 (518-885-0091) They are also running a GoFundMe Campaign. 

WellspringOnline donations via credit card or checks made payable to Wellspring and mailed to 480 Broadway LL 20, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Monetary donations are incredibly important during times like this because it allows them to help their clients immediately with whatever their needs are at any given time, and all their needs are very different.  Donations will be crucial right now as they help clients navigate this ‘new normal’. They give Wellspring the ability to purchase gift cards which they can give to clients for whatever their basic needs are (food, medicine, gas to get to work etc.)  As hours get cut/eliminated they are going to see more and more need for this.
