Community Art Project Honoring First Responders

From Artist and Community Art coordinator Mark Blech:

Thank you all for participating in Ballston Spa BLOOMS!   The banners and birdhouses look GREAT in the village!

We’re starting a new community arts program to honor the First Responders in our community who keep our village safe and protected. The program includes new banners and a themed over-sized sign, for your home, to show your support for the first responders. Let’s celebrate the hard work and dedication of our First Responders with our creativity.

In addition to the painted banners and home sign project, we’re also creating digitally printed banners, in the style of the currently hanging, BSCSD graduating sports program banners, to recognize the men and women of; Eagle Matt Lee Fire Company, Union Fire Company, the Ballston Spa Police Department and Community Emergency Corp.  These dedicated hardworking residents  are our neighbors and friends, let’s show them how much we appreciate their service to the community by participating in this artistic tribute.

Banners and signs can be picked up at 10 Thompson St, the blue barn behind the Elks. The signs will be outside on a table. If you want to paint a banner, email Mark Blech at marklouisco@gmail.com  to arrange a pick up time.
