November 2020 Newsletter

How can it be November already?  Although 2020 has sometimes seemed like quite the slog with all the challenges it has brought, here we are close to the end of the year and contemplating the start of the holiday season.  And even that will not be quite the same as usual, but we are not deterred!

Read about plans for Small Business Saturday (November 28)–member businesses remember to sign up for this free social media promotion.  As experience has shown over the past few months, customers are still looking to support local small businesses any way they can, and this nationally organized celebration of “Shop Small” is another way to bring those holiday shoppers (and diners) to downtown Ballston Spa.

Ballston Spa’s holiday parade and tree lighting will take on a different look this year, but we promise that the holiday spirit will be alive and well.

The big news is the announcement of an Economic Development Plan in the works for the Village of Ballston Spa.  Read about the presentation, the plan’s partners and the necessity to tap into our member constituent groups to implement the best practices and “placemaking” initiatives that will take Ballston Spa to the next level as a vital and dynamic community. The plan can be found here.

Also in this issue-First Friday in Ballston Spa is Sweet 16 on November 6!  We’ll be celebrating with not one, but THREE ribbon cuttings for new and expanding downtown businesses that evening.  Plus read about fundraisers (virtual and otherwise) for great causes, Association and member news.

Happy Thanksgiving!
