I was shopping in the Village a few weeks ago and started chatting with a woman who was purchasing some items at a shop. After some small talk, I learned she and her husband live in Rochester and her father lived in Vermont. For years, they’d travel from Rochester to Vermont, and each time she’d see a sign for Ballston Spa during the drive, she would tell her husband when they retired, they’d drive here and spend a day. And it’s exactly what they were doing that day! She was taking her time looking through all the shops, they had lovely lunch, and some iced tea to go. Being me, I couldn’t help but list the many places they should check out before heading home. Later, I saw her husband sitting on a bench in Wiswall Park, reading a book while she shopped. The BSBPA’s many exciting events are in full swing! The Farmers Market is back, offering fresh and locally grown produce and products to our community every Thursday and Saturday until September 30. Concerts in the Park are returning, with live music performances every Thursday evening starting the last Thursday in June. Additionally, Movies in the Park are held on the First Fridays throughout the summer months, providing a fun and free outdoor movie experience for families and friends. – Dana Womer, Executive Administrator
