Lemonade Stand Fundraiser at Ribbon Café

The Ballston Spa Sunshine Kids are back at Ribbon Cafe, this year raising money for a local little boy who needs the community’s help.

Join them at Ribbon Café on Saturday, July 29 at 1pm as they raise money to support Aiden. 
 
Aiden Rodriguez is a 7 year old little boy who was diagnosed on September 26, 2022 with grade 3 Choroid Plexus Carcinoma (CPC) and Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS). CPC is a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer. LFS is a rare germ line mutation of the P53 tumor suppressor gene. To date, Aiden has endured: 3 major brain surgeries, a port-a-cath placement surgery, 2 emergency exterior ventricular drain (EVD) surgeries, a procedure to harvest 20 million stem cells, 2 embolization procedures, a surgery to place two permanent brain shunts, 4 sessions of inpatient chemotherapy, and an emergency appendectomy. In addition, Aiden has suffered a stroke, and has received many blood, platelet, and coagulant transfusions. Aiden has spent countless days in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and continues physical, occupational, and speech therapy on a weekly basis.
 
Activities at the event will include Saratoga Children’s Museum, appearances from miniature donkeys from Maple Rock Farm, baby goats, a DJ, dance performances from Carol Lawrence Dance studio, vehicles from local fire departments and EMS stations, Ballston Area Community Center will be doing face painting, kids games, and more.
