The Ballston Area Community Center’s mission is “to provide essential community services, programs, support and projects that enhance the social, emotional and physical development of youth and families of the Ballston Area.” Founded in 1981, the Ballston Area Community Center (BACC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving youth, ages 5 to 19, and their families, who live in the Ballston Spa School District. Programs include before and after-school child care, teen programming, summer camp, basketball leagues, and community group hosting. The BACC classrooms, kitchen, full gym and outdoor playground are used and enjoyed by a great variety of groups and organizations. The Ballston Area Recreation Commission’s (BARC) mission is to provide low cost recreational programs to families in the Ballston Spa School District and surrounding area, so participants & their families can participate in a variety of recreational, educational & athletic activities. This is accomplished through support from the Towns of Milton, Malta, & Ballston, and the Village of Ballston Spa, as well as support from the Ballston Spa Central School District. Founded in 1952, the BARC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving youth, grades K-12, and their families. Programs include spring & fall soccer, spring & fall t-ball, spring & fall instructional baseball, indoor tennis, summer tennis, track & field, basketball, enrichment (both school based and off site intensives), swim, youth theater and arts. The Ballston Area Senior Citizens, Inc., whose members are primarily residents of the towns of Milton, Ballston and Village of Ballston Spa, meet each Thursday for a pot-luck luncheon at the Town of Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road. Non-residents of the three municipalities are also very welcome to join. Of the over 400 current members, about 90 attend the weekly luncheons. Additional activities include social hours, dances, music pickins’ bowling, Mah Jong, cards, golfing, chorus, crafts, woodcarving, festive dinners and day trips. Annual dues are $10. The Ballston Spa Community Band was created for the continuing music education of its members and audiences. Through practicing and performing, we will show that music is a life long activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Our mission is to perform a wide variety of instrumental music for the enjoyment and education of audiences throughout Saratoga County, NY. The Ballston Spa Community Band will provide these concerts free of charge at locations that are accessible to the public.

The Ballston Spa Lions Club was granted a charter by Lions Club International in September 1949.The Lions Club has been assisting individual and families in need living in the Ballston Spa, New York area. The club assists individuals and families living in the Towns of Ballston, Malta and Milton as well as non-profit organizations that also help families residing in our community. The primary mission of the Lions Club is vision and hearing disabilities. Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Ballston Spa Public Library – ballston.sals.edu
The Ballston Spa Public Library was chartered in 1893 by the State of New York, to serve the residents of the village of Ballston Spa. It existed in various locations throughout the village, until a permanent home was built for it in 1959. An addition was put on in 1971. The current building is two stories, each of which is accessible by wheel chair separately. Ballston Spa now has approximately 5000 residents, and is the county seat of Saratoga County.

The Ballston Spa Rotary was established in 1922. Rotary is a worldwide organization of over 1.2 million business and professional leaders who provide service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary addresses some of today’s critical issues such as violence, AIDS, hunger, and health care. The Ballston Spa Rotary also helps local organizations including the Ballston Area Community Center, Ballston Spa Junior Baseball, Ballston Area Recreation Commission, National Bottle Museum, and Brookside Museum. Gateway House is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable and caring home free of charge for terminally ill patients under the medical care of Hospice. Located in Ballston Spa New York, Gateway House is a donor driven community organization which receives no insurance reimbursements, state or government funding. The home is staffed primarily with volunteers and relies on community support. Gateway House of Peace is not a medical facility and is run independently, collaborates with Community Hospice of Saratoga who provides the medical management for the patients as they do for anyone receiving hospice care in their own home environment. The volunteers and staff of Gateway House become extended family for our community residents who can no longer remain safe in their own home.
