Throughout April, National Poetry Month comes to life in Ballston Spa with a creative, community-wide celebration of the written word.
As part of the 2026 “Random Acts of Poetry” initiative, the Village transforms into an interactive poetry experience for residents and visitors alike. A featured “Poetry Walk” invites guests to stroll from Wiswall Park through Memorial Park and onward to Ballston Spa Public Library, where poetry banners line the streets and celebrate the spirit of the season.
Local businesses and community partners play a key role in bringing poetry to everyday spaces. Visitors can discover free “Bucket Poems” at participating locations, enjoy “Dining with Poetry” placards at restaurant tables, and experience a Village-wide “Poetry Chalk Walk,” featuring original haiku written by local Girl Scouts on sidewalks throughout downtown.
Poetry can be found in unexpected places all month long—from sidewalks and storefronts to parks and patios—highlighting the creativity and collaboration that define Ballston Spa. This month-long celebration showcases the power of poetry to connect community, inspire imagination, and turn an ordinary day into something extraordinary.
